A Title Escapes Me

For some reason, I just can't seem to come up with a clever title. Maybe it's because I'm thinking too much about the fact that I'm going to go to the gym tomorrow and am dreading the early morning..or maybe it's just because too much went on this weekend and it didn't relate to each other at all.

In any case, here's our weekend, in short. On Saturday, our Adult Fellowship class was set to pick up trash at a local beach for Serve Day. However, due to the overabundance of Californians who thought Saturday was the perfect day for a beach trip, the beach was closed and we had to find another place to "serve." The local park was the answer so the class and all the kids met at the park for some park-roasted hot dogs and coal-fired marshmallows. We thought we might be able to pick up trash to still make it a day of work but the park was so clean and the only pieces of trash we were able to see were around a family's picnic table. We all thought it would be rude to go pick up their trash for them so we just decided to make it a bbq social. We all had fun (at least I think we did) and the kids went up and down the stairs next to us 1000 times. On Sunday, Mikayla was able to visit her friend from out of town, Madeleine. These 2 have so much fun together and consider each other their "best friend." It's so cute to watch them interact and have their own princess stories and make-believe. They'll be friends for life. Too bad we live so far away...
Here's their normal picture.
Here's their silly face picture.
In another part of the city, Will took Tyler to his first circus show. It was full of bright lights, big elephants, and incredible acrobats..and loud speakers. Poor thing, Will said he did this the entire time. But at intermission, he got a drink and was ready to enjoy the rest of the show.We got home late tonight. Will stopped by In 'N Out for a burger and fries (well done, Will wanted me to make sure to note). Will ate the burger and, well, Tyler finished up all of the fries. They are one of his favorite foods. Is that bad to admit?? I don't give them to him all the time but he sure does enjoy them.

So that was our weekend in a nutshell. This week brings more swim lessons and more everyday drama. At least Will is back this week. No more Chicago!
