Is that..?

yes, it is. Underwear. It is clean underwear but underwear none the less. Will and I were out in the kitchen and the kids came out with their "masks" on and this is what we saw.

I wonder why I keep as many toys as I do. They seem to find "toys" in everything else.

This last week Will went on a business trip. As luck would have it, my Uncle Dannie was in town on business so he graciously kept me company and slept on the couch so that he could spend some time with me and the kids. It was so much fun to have him stay over. He treated us to a sushi dinner, was a great bedtime enforcer (complete with toy swords) and made American Idol so much more fun to watch with his comments and critiques.

Oh, and he got to try on Mikayla's hat (see previous post).

For the past few weeks, my daughter has been asking me if I could cut her some bangs. Since I've had bangs numerous times throughout my life, I know what kind of commitment they bring and I know how long it takes to grow them out so I tried to convince her that she really didn't want them. It didn't work. I had tried, and failed, to talk her out of wanting bangs so we went out this last weekend and my oldest got her new haircut.

Mikayla's girl scout "pin ceremony" was this week and all of the girls got their first pin. I'm such a bad mom since I really don't know what the pin was for but I know they've been working on their kindness and other character traits. I never saw myself as a girl scout mom but Mikayla likes it and has fun doing it so that's all that matters. Selling girl scout cookies is next...anyone want to buy some thin mints??

Of course all Lynnea cared about was the frosting on top of the cupcake. Look at that face, pure enjoyment.

Seconds later, it was on the floor and there were a lot of tears.

Magic on Ice

I decided to take the kids to Disney On Ice since we had never been and I got a coupon for $5 each ticket. We ended up getting great seats for a great deal and had so much fun. I think I enjoyed it almost as much as the kids.

Now, the thing you have to remember was that this was "Disney" on ice which meant that when you wanted to buy cotton candy (a must have at any extracurricular activity), you shouldn't faint when they say,"that will be $10 ma'am." TEN dollars! For a small baggie of cotton candy and a hat...that looked like this...

Ya, that tinkerbell thing on the top of Mikayla's head is considered a hat. I paid a pretty penny for that thing so she's going to college with it, for sure. Notice the CARS hat that Tyler is holding. No way was that going on his head. No matter what. It almost brought tears when I even suggested the thought. Anyway, thanks Auntie Cara for the cotton candy! I think it was finished before the Ice Show even started.

One of the exciting things about this particular show was the addition of the cars characters to the show. I wasn't anticipating being blown away by the props but I definitely was. Each car was reproduced down to the last detail and the mouths even moved. They were perfectly choreographed to move around each other without hitting each other. My favorite part of the show, however, was the Lion King. It was absolutely amazing how they recreated the wildebeast stampede as well as all of the other animals. The colors throughout the whole show were wonderful as were the costumes.

The last half of the show was entirely Tinkerbell. What a fun night and the kids were glued to their seats the entire time. I love spending time with my kids. They won't be little for very long...

Christmas? Yes, I'm really that late

I would have updated my blog earlier but my computer decided to waste my time by uploading photos at the rate of 1 per 1000 years. So, I'm using Will's laptop and I finally get to upload Christmas pictures. We had a great time with my Nana who was here for a few weeks. The kids and I tried to spend as much time with her as we could and they were so excited to be with her and make lots of fun memories. Nana spent time reading, playing, and playing which was a nice break for mommy...
